BlogPiccs 2.0 is the successor of the well known plugin called “Picasa Plugin for Windows Live Writer” which was downloaded from the Windows Live Writer download page 42.517 times.

A new version has been released which fixed the following issues:

when adding a new album in the shareware version the album has been marked as protected
fixed problem during the upload of images.

The new version of our known Picasa Plugin for Windows Live Writer is now available and is called BlogPiccs 2.0. By now the picasa plugin for Windows Live Writer has been downloaded over 37.000 times from the Windows Live Portal.

BlogPiccs 2.0 uses newest technologies (Linq, WPF, dot.NET 3.5) und comes with the following features:

- embedding of pictures of online picasa albums in your personal blog
- linking with various options (slideshow, album, image, url, etc.)
- modifying various visual properties like margin, frame, positioning
- online album creation
- upload of images in your personal online picasa albums

Als erstes möchte ich mich entschuldigen, dass dieses Update so lange hat auf sich warten lassen müssen. Zukünftige Updates will und werde ich zeitnah bereitstellen. Nun aber zu den Details:

Ich habe die nächste Version bereitgestellt, Download wie immer über die Live Gallery. Im Fokus dieses Release stehen folgende Änderungen:

Fix bei fehlerhaften Anmeldungen
Umstellung auf .net 2.0
Erweiterte Einstellungen des Previews (Wrapping, Seitenabstand)

First of all, I have to apologize. I was stuck in other projects and I couldn't manage it to invest the time I wanted into this project. I will provide future updates in a more timely manner. But let's focus on the current release details:

Einbinden der Bilder in Blog-Einträge per Doppelklick

The time has come: the first alpha version of the picasa plugin has been released and is available for download.

Plugin features:

listing of public / private albums and images
insertion of images into blog entries per double-click
selection of preview and link size (web pages can be linked as well)
creation of public / private albums
upload of images into picasa

Windows Live Writer: Picasa Plugin

Since my very first use of Windows Live Writer - which is by the way a very handsome tool - I figured out the need for integrated Picasa Web Album support. Unfortunately I couldn't find any plugin that would meet my requirements either to access existing images in Picasa or to upload new ones.

I didn't want to look for another tool nor to log in Picasa with the browser and search for my album and the desired image. All I wanted was similar to the Community Server Gallery Plugin, where I can choose between my albums and select the images I want to link in my blog.

Since that plugin doesn't exist, I had to write my own and right now, I got the first version working. It supports:
